In 1850, Lady Mary Foulis, only child and heiress of the last Foulis baronet of Ingleby Manor, married the 2nd Lord de Lisle and Dudley of Penshurst in Kent. One of Devey's early notable commissions had been rebuilding Penshurst Place for the Lord, beginning in 1851. Annotated with 'Ingleby Manor.
