Scope and Contents
Photograph of cottages in Leicester Square in Penshurst, Kent. The house, village and estate improvements at Penshurst were some of Devey's first important commissions, carried out for Philip Charles Sidney, 1st Baron De L'Isle and Dudley, and after his death in 1851, for his son Sir Philip Sidney, the 2nd Lord. Devey worked on projects on the estate for 30 years. Annotated 'Penshurst. Cottages by G. Devey. 1856'.
