Devey was commissioned for work at Sudbury Hall and the surrounding estate during the 1870s by the 6th Lord Vernon, which included enlarging The Boar's Head, originally a tiny public house at the Station. Annotated 'Sudbury Station Inn. Addition by G. Devey'.
