Scope and Contents
Annotated [by James Williams] 'Coombe Warren. first house (burnt down) G. Devey'. The figure of 'G. Devey' has been identified in the photograph; some colour has been added to a few areas of the facade. Devey was commissioned by Bertram Wodehouse Currie to design additions to Coombe Warren [in 1865]. Part of the house shown in the photograph burnt down in 1870 and Devey designed a grander house in its place.
