Biography
Carmen Rubio was a trapeze performer from the famed Rosaire circus family, established by Fred Ross in 1904. Carmen was the daughter of Dennis and Amelia Ross. She was trained as an equestrian, trapeze and general artiste, who adopted the family showbusiness name of Rosaire. She travelled around the world in circuses with her family throughout the 1950s with different acts, including the Three Rosaires act, which she performed with her parents. Carmen tragically died on 28th August 1960 from an accident while performing with her brother Carlos Rosaire at Chipperfields Circus in Kingston-upon-Thames, aged 18 years old.
