Biography
Alexandre ‘Sacha’ Distel was a French singer, guitarist and actor of Russian-Jewish descend. Sacha was born on 29 January 1933 into a family of musicians, which heavily influenced his career. By the time he was a teenager, Sacha was already a professional jazz guitarist and by the 1950s he had stablished himself as a French crooner and started to appear in television shows around the world.
During the 1960s, he had his own variety show on French television and during the 1970s and 1980s he regularly appeared on television variety shows in the UK.
Sacha continued performing his whole life in one way or another until his death on 22 July 2004 aged 71.
