Biography
Moira Anderson was a Scottish singer, television and radio presenter, born on 5 June 1938 in Kirkintilloch, Scotland. She attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow.
Her first job in the media was with BBC radio presenting Can't Help Singing, which was followed by many TV series. By 1968, she had her own TV show on BBC1 ‘Moira Anderson Sings’ and two years later she signed up a deal with the Decca Records. As well as her life performances she also hosted ‘Stars On Sunday’ from 1969 to 1979 and received an OBE in 1970. Her career continued through the 1980s until she retired to the Isle of Man.
