The Gazette, first issued in February 1948, was distributed to senior staff, members of Convocation, to donors, and to people who had shown interest in the University. It was not a formal publication, but offered articles descriptive of events, and various departments, to keep its readers in touch with the University's work and projects. (See Chapman's history p.443). The Gazette underwent several changes of format, style and frequency before its demise in 1980.
