Biographical / Historical
This functional grouping contains records created by the Faculties of the University of Sheffield. Faculties are an organistional construct, bringing together departments with similar attributes or characteristics. Faculties have formed, merged and disbanded since the University came into existence. The Centenary History of the University, 'Steel City Scholars' documents the development of Faculties from 1905 to 2005. Faculties are recorded in the annual Calendar publication. As of 2022 the University has five Faculties. They are Arts and Humanities; Science; Medicine, Dentistry and Health; Engineering; Social Sciences.
