Entries cover Samuel Norwood's life in Canada doing work for the Salvation Army and his persistent but unsuccessful attempts to find employment as a teacher, and continued contacts with the Hoborough family. There is a gap from 13 August to 15 September, during which time he returned to England, and on 16 September took lodgings in Lower Clapton, London, where he continued working for the Salvation Army.
