Essay notebook, inscribed ‘C. Norwood, St. John’s College’. The notebook seems to have been reused throughout Cyril's studies. It includes notes in an earlier schoolboy hand, and an adult hand, on Classics subjects. There are two distinct styles of adult hand.

Letters to Norwood from his parents, 1897 - 1898
Letters from Cyril Norwood's parents, Mrs Elizabeth Norwood and the Reverend Samuel Norwood, addressed from 4, Millfield Villas, Spratt Hall Road, Wanstead, to Cyril Norwood at St. John's College, Oxford. Five letters are from Mrs Elizabeth Norwood, Cyril's mother, signed "Your loving Mother, Bessie Norwood", and two are from Reverend Samuel Norwood, Cyril's father, signed "Yours ever afftly, Sam Norwood". These letters were kept amongst Norwood's Papers in the small decorative box.
