The Ecclesall Division Conservative Association was formed following the Redistribution of Seats Act (48 and 49 Victoria Ch. 23) of 1885, which created five separate parliamentary divisions out of the former individual borough seat of Sheffield which had returned two Members. (The other divisions were Attercliffe, Brightside, Central and Hallam). The Ecclesall division consisted of the Ecclesall Ward except part of the Glossop Road Polling District. Branch Committees were established in South Street (South Street Polling District), Lansdowne, New Inn, St. Mary´s, Washington (Cemetery Road Polling District), Highfield, Nether Edge (Sharrow Polling District), Psalter Lane (Psalter Lane Polling District), and Broomhill (Broomhill Polling District).
From 1918 to 1949 the Division consisted of the Ecclesall and Sharrow Wards. In 1949, as a result of further boundary changes, the constituency (and hence the Ecclesall Division Conservative and Constitutional Association) ceased to exist.
