Hillsborough Socialist Workers Party Documents
Scope and Contents
A small collection of documents produced by the Hillsborough, Sheffield branch of the Socialist Workers Party in 1995 and 1996, illustrating issues addressed at both local and national levels during the period.
Examples of issues addressed in this collection are, nationally, the Merseyside Docks dispute, the place of the Socialist Workers Party in the political climate dominated by New Labour, the Asylum Bill and, locally, the closure of local libraries in Sheffield, anti-racism work at Euro 96 and the BNP in Hillsborough, and the proposed Tram Gates traffic control system in Hillsborough following the construction of the Supertram network.
