MCC - The Fully Harmonious and Totally Unauthorised History, 1988
Scope and Contents
Script for radio play 'MCC - The Fully Harmonious and Totally Unauthorised History' devised, written and presented by Peter Tinniswood. In the script, the 'MCC' refers to a fictitious international espionage network founded in 1787. The script satirically and humorously details the presence of 'MCC' ambassadors throughout significant historical events, such as WW1, WW2 and royal weddings. It is interspersed with self-aware cricket references, as 'MCC' also refers to the Marylebone Cricket Club based at Lords, also founded in 1787. The play was later renamed 'The Unofficial History of the MCC' featuring Robin Bailey and Peter Tinniswood. It was broadcast in 1988. Script contains handwritten annotations.
