Correspondence and papers concerning a Parliamentary Labour Party Review Committee on the Reform of the Commons, and how working hours and the summer recess could be changed to facilitate a better work life balance for MPs. Includes correspondence concerning Blunkett's article in The Guardian newspaper, 26/03/1990 entitled 'Hard Times for MPs in Bleak House' concerning need to modernise accommodation and procedures of Parliament; a proposal for a 'Dispatches' documentary on parliamentary reform presented by Blunkett entitled 'Bleak House'; and correspondence with academics concerning research on the increased pressures on members of parliament.
