Scope and Contents
Diary kept by Barry Hines during a writer's trip to Berlin, Germany, which he sent to Jean Penchion. Hines was invited to Berlin by his publishers and the people of Germany and he was seen as a socialist writer. The diary gives a unique perspective on the social history of East Germany at the time.
