Scope and Contents

Artist: James Gillray. Published: Hannah Humphrey. The Duke of Clarence stands full face, realistically depicted but cruelly caricatured, with porcine features. He wears a cylindrical hat with curved brim, a double-breasted coat with star, cut away to show the lower part of a double-breasted waistcoat, and top-boots. In the (gloved) right hand is a cane, the left hand is behind his back. He stares straight before him out of pig's eyes. Above the design: 'Post tot Naufragia tutus'.
