Scope and Contents

After: Temple West. Published: Piercy Roberts. An adaptation of the traditional design of the Four (or Five) Alls. Three figures stand on isolated plots of ground. On the left Napoleon lunges forward in profile to the left with drawn sabre; he wears his large bicorne, on his jack-boots are huge spurs. He is 'The Turberlent Mr Fight-all'. In the centre Pitt, 'The Hoñble Mr Tax-all', stands, his head turned in profile to the left, his mouth open as if declaiming. His right hand is on his hip, and he holds a paper between finger and thumb. On the right is a ferocious nude Devil in profile to the left; he claws and capers with outstretched talons. He is 'The Worshipfull Mr Take-all'. Description from the British Museum.
