Scope and Contents
By Charles Williams. The Prince of Wales sits on the box-seat of an open barouche drawn by four horses next Sir John Lade who instructs him in driving. In the carriage Mrs. Fitzherbert sits, facing the horses, opposite a stouter lady (identified as Miss Snow) who asks: "Did Noodle [the Prince] bring you physic this Morning?" She answers: "Oh yes he calls regularly every morning". The driver leans forward, lashing the near leader and turning to the Prince (who ignores him) to say: "There B-t it dont you see!! thats the cut." On the carriage door, as crest, is a goose standing on a gridiron or 'saveall'; trees form a background. A signpost (left) points (left) 'to Cuckfield' and (right) 'to Lewes' Description from the British Museum.
