E. L. B. Meurig-Davies was a lecturer at St. John's College who was dismissed by Norwood. The letters include a number of correspondents:

Norwood to Poole (3). Austin Lane Poole, medieval historian and Fellow of St. John's, was Norwood's successor as President of the College from 1946 to 1957.
Meurig-Davies to Costin (11). William Conrad Costin, History Fellow of St. John's, succeeded Poole as President of the College from 1957 to 1963.
Colin Roberts to Norwood (12). Colin Henderson Roberts, papyrologist, in 1940 Senior Research Fellow and then Fellow in Classics of St. John's.
Rev. T. E. Meurig-Davies to Norwood (13, 16). Rev. T. E. Meurig-Davies was E. L. B. Meurig-Davies's father.
