Scope and Contents

Letter to Catherine M. Norwood from Field-Marshal Sir Henry Hughes Wilson, London, thanking her for her hospitality during his visit to Marlborough. In A History of Marlborough College, by A. G. Bradley et al., 1923, the Field-Marshal's visit is recorded: 'in July the Marlborough OTC was inspected by Field-Marshal Sir Henry Wilson, accompanied by six other Marlburians greatly distinguished by their services during the war.' Wilson was also intended to open the new War Memorial Hall in 1925, but was assassinated in 1922.
