Scope and Contents
Photograph of equestrian performer Harry Austin standing on two horses. The image was taken inside the grounds of Balmoral Castle in 1898. Two performers in costume with violins are lying in the grass beside the horses. Harry Austin was part of the Austin Equestrian Troupe and married to Ellen 'Topsy' Coleman granddaughter of 'Lord' George Sanger. The photographer's name 'R. Milne photographer for HM The Queen, Aboyne and Ballater' is on the mount of the photograph.
