Biography

Vincenzo Sestini was born in Italy in 1743. He came to London in approximately 1774 hoping to become a singer in the Italian opera at the King's Theatre in Haymarket. He was not very well reviewed but then developed a successful career as a theatrical costumier or 'Master of the Garderobe'.
