Biography

She starred on the stage at just five years old, playing a total of four characters in the play “Old and Young” at the Theatre, Sheffield. Instantly hailed by many as an “infant phenomenon”, she regularly appeared on stage with her family, including her two sisters. She retired from the stage in 1890, keeping the same surname, which suggests she may not have married.
