Biography

An actor, stage manager and playwright who was born in London. He specialised in low-comic roles such as the ‘Artful Dodger’ and ‘Rip Van Winkle’. His experience on the London circuit led him to write the book “The London Theatre in the Eighteen Thirties.” He became stage manager in Liverpool, Oldham and Bradford, where he lived until his death from Cirrhosis in 1880.
