Biography

Mr Falconer was an Irish born poet, actor, theatre manager, songwriter and playwright who was also known as Edmund O’Rourke. He achieved success at the age of 41, performing in ‘Hamlet’ and ‘Three Fingered Jack’ at the Adelphi Theatre in Liverpool to rave reviews. He translated his success into writing and theatre management; his most famous work being “The Rose of Castille”. The Manchester Guardian newspaper wrote upon his death that although he had made a colossal fortune, he died penniless.
