Biography

Having gained widespread attention for his role of Hamlet at the City Theatre in London, he began to tour across the country’s theatres. In this time, he took management posts at Wolverhampton, Sheffield and Drury Lane, London. He left England to tour the world with his wife, Clara in 1860, continuing to act up until his death.
