Biography
James Freeman was a versatile circus performer and entertainer a skilled trapeze artiste and highwire walker who became most famous as Pimpo the clown. James married Victoria Sanger (28 September 1895 - August 1991), the great-granddaughter of 'Lord' George Sanger in 1917. Pimpo appeared at Sanger Circus throughout the 1930s and 1940s and was considered one of the most versatile and popular clowning acts of the day. His repertoire included animal training and acrobatics as well as more conventional clowning routines.

Noel Drewe Collection
A large collection of films entitled Circusama containing amateur and professional films on the themes of circus, performing animals and zoos, and edited clips from commercial Western and comedy films. The films are in a variety of formats including 8mm, Super8, 9.5mm and 16mm and contain related correspondence and notes. This collection also contains some sound reels mainly of fairground music.
