Biography
A comic actor who achieved great success at the St James’s Theatre in London. He specialised in portraying French characters and was a member of Mr Macready’s company at Drury Lane. He retired to America in 1854, hoping that he would be able to capture the people’s imagination over there. Unfortunately, severe illness prevented these hopes and he died in Montreal.
