Biography

Laurence F. Wilson, or Laurie as he liked to be known, was born in Stafford in 1930. He lived soon after he was born afor most of his childhood in Lichfield. Laurie become a circus enthusiast from an early age, influenced by his mother, who died when he was 14. He visited as many circuses as he could during his lifetimeand often travelled long distances just to see the big top being put up or pulled down. Laurie took many photographs as well as collecting posters, flyers, tickets and other circus related material. Laurie passed away on 12 February 2023.
