Biography

John Robinson was born 23 February 1818in Chapel Row, Wilsden, Bardford.

He joined Mander's Royal Menagerie, Theh LIon Slyers Ecampment at Blackpool on 7 September 1856, aged 38. In 1863, he joined James Edmonds at the Royal Windoson Carstl and Crystal Palace Menagerie for part of the summer seasson.

Johnremained with Manders Menagerie for twenty five years, during which time he recorded the menagerie's travels around the country in a diary. He left Manders on 25 December 1881, aged 63.
