Biography

Thomas Charles Arnold was a theatrical producer, born in Yorkshire in 1897. Tom Arnold started to work in theatre production after the First World War, touring revues around provincial theatres and music halls. By 1934, he became involved in pantomime and eventually expanded his business to encompass a wide range of classical and popular performance including opera, classical plays, films, revues, American rodeo and variety, ice spectaculars and circuses. He also had business interests in seaside piers and pleasure steamers, including the Ice Palace in Brighton, city which he considered his second home. He also produced films, including Waltzes from Vienna with Alfred Hitchcock.

Tom Arnold produced numerous shows in Harringay Arena including circus and ice spectaculars and Wembley Arena.

Tom Arnold died on 2 February 1969 at 72 years of age.
