Biography
Doug Roseaman studied Mechanical Engineering at University College London gaining a BSc(Eng) with honours. He joined London transport as a graduate engineer and before he was 30 had worked his way up in the bus business to manage the engineering and property at seven garages. Rationalisation of the business lead him to look after nearly one quarter of the fleet – roundly 1000 buses and similar number of staff. Privatisation saw the bus operation split into much smaller units and Doug left to concentrate on consultancy. In 1987 he set up his own business ‘Doug Roseaman Engineering’ which, today designs and builds models for corporate and hobby customers. The specialism is in road steam and fairground. In between times he has been trustee and chairman of two local charities and continues to help Industrial archaeology charities.
