Biography
Arnold Dodel (or Dodel-Port) was a Swiss botanist and advocate of Darwin's evolutionary theory.
He studied biology at the University of Geneva, at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule in Zürich and at the University of Munich. In 1869, he received his doctorate from the University of Freiburg. He was Professor of Botany at the University of Zürich from 1883 to 1903.

Scope and Contents
A collection of 43 wall charts illustrating botanical subjects, mostly created in the late 19th century.The majority of the wall charts are from the Dodel-Port Atlas, whose images were drawn and collated by Arnold and Carolina Dodel, Swiss botanists who began this work in 1878. Others are from the series Botanische Wandtafeln which was published by the Paul Parey Zeitschriftenverlag in Berlin in the 1870s.For further details of this collection please see the finding...
