Biography

Annabelle Moore (nee Whitford) aka Peerless Annabelle was an American dancer and actress who appeared in numerous early silent films.

Annabelle was born in Chicago on 6 July 1878 and made her debut as a dancer at the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893, aged fifteen years old. She soon achieved fame and moved to New York City, where she performed in several films for the Edison Studios, including performing the butterfly dance and also appeared on Broadway.

In spite of her early success, her fame started to decline after she married Edward James Buchan in 1910.

Annabelle died on 29 November 1961.
