Biography

During his long and distinguished academic career teaching English in many British and overseas institutions, Professor Geoffrey Bullough (1901-1982) amassed a large collection of nineteenth- and early twentieth century literary texts, many of which represent his interest in minor Victorian novelists.

In 1922, Geoffrey Bullough received a first-class honours degree in English Literature from the University of Manchester, and the following year completed his MA before becoming a school teacher. He then returned to Manchester, moving on to the University of Edinburgh in 1929.
