Biography

Paul Angel was a fairground enthusiast who photographed rides and views of fairgrounds from his Herefordshire base.

Paul was born in Herefordshire and was a founding member of Fairground Association of Great Britain (FAGB). He was instrumental in setting up FAGB and was an active contributor to their magazine 'The Fairground Mercury.' Paul also wrote articles for World's Fair newspaper for many years.

Paul was a keen photographer and over his lifetime amassed a large amount of fairground images, most of which are now at the National Fairground and Circus Archive.

Paul worked as an engineer for British Telecome and eventually relocated to South Wales, where he died of cancer in 2005 aged 75 years old.
