Biography

Walter Bartley was a technician and assistant to Kenneth Mellanby, who personally subjected himself to the experiments carried out in the Sorby Research Institute. He had arrived in Sheffield on the first day of its Blitz, December 12, 1940, and later became Professor of Biochemistry at Sheffield in 1963.
