Biography

Robert Barker was a fairground enthusiast from York, with a passion for traction engines.

Robert first became interested in fairgrounds as a boy when he worked on a traction driven hay winnower. This lead to a life long fascination with the fairground traction driven rides.

Robert collected postcards and photographs by various authors through purchases and gifts.

Robert died in 1988 aged 76 years old and left his collection to his son.
