Biography

John Eyres was born in 1919. John was an avid circus enthusiast and collector and travelled around Salisbury following the travelling circuses. John particularly favoured circuses with animals. He forged many friendships with the travelling showmen as well as with other circus enthusiasts.

John was the founding member of the Circus Society for which he served as President from an unknown date but was in post in 1994 age 65 until his health deteriorated in 2002-2003 age 84 and he moved into a home.
