Biography

Bobby Roberts Junior was born in 1942 in Edinburgh where his father Robert was doing his National Service as a fireman. Bobby was the son of circus performer and impresario Bobby Roberts (Robert Otto Fossett) (1912-1999) and variety and circus performer Kitty Mednick (b.1922).

Bobby made his debut in the circus at the tender age of four and spent the rest of his life in the ring. Bobby was a well rounded performer, he started with a high-wire act which he often performed above an open roof lion's cage, he had a trapeze act, he was a bareback rider and an animal trainer.

Bobby met her wife Moira (1937-2018) while his family's circus was at Kelvin Hall and they marry in 1965. The couple joined the Robert Brothers Circus where they formed a double act called Bobby Ringo and Princess Moira.

In 1993 Bobby and Moira branched out of the family circus to establish their own circus, which they named Bobby Roberts Super Circus, which travelled until 2011.

Bobby and Moira had two children, Kitty and Robert (Bobby), both of who continued with the family business. Kitty and her husband Istvan Sallai travelled the family circus under the name Circus Sallai and Bobby developed a career as a circus clown.
