Biography
Noel Drewe was a circus historian and collector as well as an avid film enthusiast with a keen flair for filmmaking.
He made short films shot on 8mm featuring an eclectic mix of fairground experiences, illustrating the pleasures of Battersea fun fair, Southend-on-Sea, Kent seaside, Folkstone, Clacton and Southsea on Kodachrome colour film stock.

Noel Drewe Collection
A large collection of films entitled Circusama containing amateur and professional films on the themes of circus, performing animals and zoos, and edited clips from commercial Western and comedy films. The films are in a variety of formats including 8mm, Super8, 9.5mm and 16mm and contain related correspondence and notes. This collection also contains some sound reels mainly of fairground music.

8mm, Lone Star Corporation. 200 Feet. Black and white, silent. Commercial film, starring Charles Chaplin. Opening scene includes Albert Dustin as a cab driver. The reminder of the film features Chaplin doing a solo comedy routine.
