Biography

Ted Lightbown is a resident and local historian of Blackpool born in 1943. Together with his wife Anne, they have been active in the archiving of the history of Blackpool specifically its Pleasure Beach and Winter Gardens. Over the years, Ted and Anne's efforts have enabled many local heritage projects to gather momentum.

Ted is also the author of various books on Blackpool history including; Blackpool: A Pictorial History, which is a brief and sobering retrospective look at the history of Blackpool and its lost buildings, Blackpool Through Time and Blackpool History Tour, the last two of which he co-authored with Allan W. Wood.

Ted died on March 2022.
