Biography

Charles Enoch Doubtfire is a fairground showman and founder of C. Doubtfire (Amusements) Limited. Charles operated fairgrounds as well as archades on Scarborough's South Bay.

Charles married the daughter of another faiground showman from Yorkshire, Enoch Farrar and inherited some of his father-in-law's rides.

He caused controversy in 1981 for putting up a waxwork version of the Yorkshire Ripper outside one of his shows.
