Biography
Cirkus Scott is a Swedish circus, was established in 1937 by brothers Carl, Herman, Bruno and Natini Bronett, the most famous Swedish clowns of the time.
Shortly after setting up the circus, Carl died, leaving the circus to the three remaining brothers.
During the Second World War the circus continued performing in Stockholm until 1946 when they started to tour around Sweden again. In 1853 Cirkus Scott, toured a three ring circus with Althoff Circus. Between 1976 and 1982 Cirkus Scott didn’t produce their own acts but instead rented staff, animal and equipment from the Hungarian State Circus and between 1983 and 1985, they stop travelling once again and only gave shows in Stockholm.
Bruno’s wife Kate took over the circus when the Bronett brothers died and run it until 1982 with her son, Francois. Over the years, Francois’ sons Henry and Robert got involved in the family business and eventually inherited it when their father dies. During this time Cirkus Scott started to work in partnership with German circus Althoff once again and toured widely around Sweden.
After Francois Bronett’s death in 1994, his sons took over control of the family circus and continue running it until 2003. Due to financial strains, Cirkus Scott stopped touring in 2003 and eventually closed.
