Biography
David Rowland is the Son of the late Albert Rowland of J. Rowland and Sons and set out on his own in the 1970's when he purchased most of the No 2 section of the T.Whitelegg business.
David Rowland & Sons is now one of the largest fairground businesses in the West Country, led by David with his son Shane, while David Jnr. operates his own circuit of fairgrounds. David Snr. has built up a major list of equipment over the years including Gallopers, a Sizzler Twist, a Miami, Dodgems and Formula 3000, which he travels to some major events around Gloucestershire Devon and Cornwall including Dartmouth Regatta and Summercourt.
The Rowland family have been operating in the British fairground for over 100 years and David Rowland Jnr & Son’s Amusements, are the ninth generation to continue travelling around the South West of England and beyond.

This collection contains five boxes of original photographic material including negatives and slides, a small amount of fairground journals, newspaper cuttings, correspondence, six audio tapes and a small amount of posters and handbills all related to the fairground and steam rally events.
