Biography
Bob Wilson’s Funfair Ltd is a fairground family business based in Birmingham and Redditch. Wilson’s regularly travel some of the most significant British fairgrounds including Nottingham Goose fair, Hull fair, Oxford St Giles fair, Stratford & Abingdon Mop fairs, London's Hyde Park Fair, Leicester Square Christmas fair.
The heads of the business since its inception have been William Joseph Wilson (b. February 1947), Mrs Emily Violeta Wilson (b. January 1947) and Robert Thomas Wilson (b. November 1958). Robert retired from the business in 2000.
The business was first incorporated in 1971 as Bob Wilson’s & Son’s Limited company and since has expanded into other branches of the business, some of which have operated simultaneously over the years, others which have ceased to trade and two which are dormant. The business has also changed name many times through its history.

This collection contains five boxes of original photographic material including negatives and slides, a small amount of fairground journals, newspaper cuttings, correspondence, six audio tapes and a small amount of posters and handbills all related to the fairground and steam rally events.
